Fully-Booked Event: HERAKUT

     Herakut. Hera+Akut=Herakut.

Two of the most wonderful artists of today's generation from Germany went to Fully-Booked Taguig Main Branch to create exhibits live with our very own artists too.

This is a very good event launched by Fully-Booked since it promotes awareness of art to the Filipino. I do believe that art is never dying, it is just changing and adapting.

Thank you Fully-Booked for this wonderful event! Keep up the good work!

Wanting to be updated about the hottest and best books available? Like the Fully-Booked Facebook page now!

There are many bookstores which have a Facebook page. There is National Bookstore's page. However, what impresses me about the page of Fully-Booked is due to the fact that it is updated. It regularly appears on my news feed, and they reply to your comments, questions, or messages. As a consumer, this is a good way to maintain loyalty as I feel valued by the store.

Apparently, all you need to do is click like on their Facebook page which I'll be listing at the end of this article, and you'd be updated about their featured books. It is a nice way to connect with the store. In my case, it allows me to know which branches have the book that I want.

I won't be lengthening this post any more, so I encourage you all to like the link below.

Up on Fully-Booked: The Fault in Our Stars

John Green's widely-acclaimed and 'soon-to-be-a-movie' novel The Fault in Our Stars was, and still, a hit among people of all ages that buyers are having a hard time availing it in different bookstores because it is always out of stock. But hey, don't fret anymore, Fully-Booked already stockpiled copies of it in their different branches nationwide so you can have your copy now!

Fully-Booked indeed, is also a fan of John Green because apparently, there are many Green novels found in their shelves. I'd be featuring more Green books in the upcoming fully-booked blogs but for now, let's content ourselves with his bestselling book as of press time.

The Fault in Our Stars is a novel which has captured millions of people in its spell primarily because it strikes the heart. The story features star-crossed lovers battling cancer, with one already cancer-free for about a year. It is a story which shows that love doesn't require ages since both lovers are still in their teenage years.

If I might add, The Fault in Our Stars is your no ordinary novel. It has enough depth in it, that it encapsulates all things that you'll be looking for in love stories. Fully-Booked believes so, they even posted it on their Facebook page.

If you are convinced now that the book is worth your hard-earned money, drop by now to your nearest Fully-Booked store and give yourself some love!

Up on Fully-Booked: Rick Riordan's Sea of Monsters

Just in time for the upcoming movie sequel of the famous "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief", the highly-anticipated book Sea of Monsters is up for grabs in Fully-Booked.

The book is a product of the genius mind of New York times bestselling author Rick Riordan, and is rooted from the Greek mythology. It features characters from the famous myth such as Cyclops, Pegasi, Gods and demigods, of course.

A bit of background on the story, Percy Jackson is a demigod conceived by a mortal woman and by the Sea-god, Poseidon. Just a bit of gold, Poseidon is one of the 'big-three' gods in the mythology alongside Zeus, the god of gods, and Hades, the king of the Underworld.

Going back, Percy Jackson is facing hurdles and challenges from the bad guys with the likes of Medusa and Gaea. However, like other stories, Percy is not without help. His journey is aided and made more fun by his demigod friends from Camp Half-Blood, a sort of a boot camp and a safe haven for demigods. The reason why Camp Half Blood is a safe haven for demigods is due to the fact that they are always being followed and hunted by monsters, and these demigods found refuge at the camp, a protected place.

But what if the protection around Camp Half-Blood is compromised? What is going to happen to the demigods? Who is going to a dangerous mission to save the camp? I know you already have your guesses, but go to your nearest Fully-Booked store and grab the book now! I assure you that it is worth the price.

It's bookstore vs bookstore with Fully-Booked MOA and National Bookstore MOA comparison. (Part 2/2)

FULLY-BOOKED MOA

SPACE- 3.5/5

Fully-Booked MOA is small yet I still gave it a rating of 3.5 lrimarily because it is what it is. A bookstore. It decreased its non-book offerings, and they just focused on stockpiling the best books which is fine for me.

COMFORTABILITY AND AMBIANCE- 5/5

This is where Fully-Booked does its job best. The bookstore is fit for me, it is quiet, the music playing is calming, the ground is carpeted, and the place smells rich. Overall, it was pleasant. I couldn't ask for more. If you don't believe me, then feel free to visit the store.

AVAILABILITY OF BOOKS- 4/5

I have to give Fully-Booked the same rating as I gave to the NBS since both stores offer a significant number of books. In terms of the availability of workbooks and textbooks, the National Bookstore is the clear winner but in terms of the rarer books, Fully-Booked is my choice.

SERVICE- 4/5

Fully-Booked employees are nice, including the guard. They were very courteous and they listen to your concerns. They are just better than the NBS employees, in my opinion. In case the book that a customer is looking is not available, they are willing to order it and then have it reserved for you. It was really nice and convenient.

VERDICT:

Before I give my verdict, let me first clarify that this comparison might be inaccurate since I did not use any scientific methods of gathering data. However, I tried my best to be unbiased in my ratings. As you can see, Fully-Booked is the winner by a fine 1 as opposed to the National Bookstore. I hope to see National Bookstore improves its services to become a better bookstore than Fully-Booked.

It's bookstore vs bookstore with Fully-Booked MOA and National Bookstore MOA comparison. (Part 1/2)

On this blog entry, I am going to make a comparison between two bookstores in SM Mall of Asia. The National Bookstore and the Fully-Booked. I will be rating the books in a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest in terms of space, comfortability and ambiance, availability of books, and service. These four factors are what I chose primarily because this are the factors which I deemed most important in a bookstore. I am by no means an expert, and I'm writing this just to serve as guide for you guys. So, off with National Bookstore first!

SPACE- 5/5

The National Bookstore in MOA is big and spacious. Just right, because it is a one-stop shop for students and professionals. NBS divided its place into different sections which is neat, since it allows easy maneuvering towards the store. It makes buyers find their way easily. There are sections for children, for school supplies, for academic books, and for non-academic books. Indeed, NBS MOA is one of the most spacious bookstore that I've ever been to. However, it's nothing compared to the Fully-Booked Taguig.

COMFORTABILITY AND AMBIANCE- 3/5

Usually when I visit bookstores and when I'm really in a browsing mode, I prefer quiet and calming stores. That's why National Bookstore MOA couldn't be my choice in this. There are far too many people speaking which makes the place quite noisy for my tastes. The place is also not carpeted so I couldn't sit on the ground. It makes me feel uncomfortable. Maybe because it just wasn't for me or maybe because the store wasn't designed to suit that particular need.

AVAILABILITY OF BOOKS- 4/5

There are many books available in NBS MOA. In fairness to the store, it is complete conpared to other nbs branches that I've been. What's nicer is that these were categorized among different subjects such as religion, fiction, non-fiction, and academic. The academic books were impressive, and I have to give this one to NBS MOA.

SERVICE- 3.5/5

The employees of NBS MOA appear stressed out, maybe it is due to the number of employees asking for help. However, that's not an excuse for me. The last time I asked an employee about a particular book, she did not even bother searching for it. She just said that maybe it was out of stock, and that I should just come back later.

Fully-Booked chronicles: MOA branch visit

I am a wide reader, I devour books like they are food. Call it geeky, nerdy, or whatever, but I do believe that a person who reads lots of books is going to be successful. Anyways, what's the best place to visit for a person like me? Of course, no other than a bookstore. However, I am a person who likes quiet places when I'm browsing books. I don't like bookstores who offer more school supplies and other things than books (ehem ehem). Well, not necessarily eerily quiet, but a store with a relaxing music playing in the background which relaxes my mind. Fully-Booked, as you might as well know now, is the perfect store for me.

Since I'll be coming from South, I think the nearest Fully-Booked store for me is the one located near the SM Mall of Asia. It was small compared to the Fully-Booked Taguig branch, but the aura is the same, if not more relaxing to me. The MOA branch is situated alongside restaurants. I don't know why, but I'm not one to complain.

Fully-Booked MOA is a complete bookstore for me. When it comes to books, I usually have genres that I want to read and fortunately, Fully-Booked offers plenty of these genres, so I'm happy with it. When you enter their premises, a guard kindly asks you to leave your belongings at their care except only when you are carrying valuables such as laptops and other gizmos in which they will then opt to ask for a quick inspection of your bag before you leave. It's kind of a hassle for some but hey, business is business, security is security, and I'm okay with that, as long as they are courteous and respectful.

After entering the premises, you are greeted with books, not supplies and other stuffs. You could then browse freely. Don't worry about some books that are plastic covered, if you really wat to check it, you could call the attention of their staff member.

In Fully-Booked MOA, you are free to sit on the ground since it was carpeted. Of course you cannot stay there forever, as you might be an inconvenience to other customers which, in that case, the staff members will ask you to move your butt. Just joking.

For some people, Fully-Booked MOA might be bland and plain but for me and other people who prefer a calming atmosphere with books, it is perfect. I could get used to a bigger space but that's the least of my concerns. At least, it's a decent bookstore.
